Game Design

Guide the hapless emu hero through a series of mind-busting puzzle rooms filled with deadly boulders on a quest to find as many diamonds as possible. The spinners add some variety, but this genre has been done before. Still, the quality of the overall package makes it seem like brand new... (MG)8

Challenge

This is the ultimate weak point of Rock 'n' Spin. The problem isn't that it's too easy. The problem is that it's too hard. The Replay option makes it a little less frustrating, but this is not really the type of game you'd play to unwind from a long stressful day. With Rock 'n' Spin, you have to plan out every move. (MG)7

Ease of use

Although the default emu controls are quite strange, this can easily be changed. The Instructions feature is extremely useful and pretty cool, too. The Replay option adds to the ease of playing this game. The Map function is also particularly handy. (MG)9.5

Graphics

The prerendered graphics for this game, especially in hi-res mode, are absolutely some of the best graphics in any allegro game out there. However, the emu sprite could use a little more detail. (MG)9

Sound

MOD-like music, along with some catchy tunes, makes the sound for this game top-notch. Some tracks can get annoying after you have to try and beat the same level 50 times. (MG)9

Satisfaction

This puzzle game is intense and challenging. This one will keep the biggest geniuses gasping for answers. One of the best Allegro games out there. (MG)9

Comments

(MG)Downloading five files to install the demo, and then registering, was a little tedious. It was well worth it, though.
